The following is a list of questions which have been asked about our ParkAdmin product. The questions and sales replies are listed below.
QUESTION
I was just looking at your website and was hoping you may be able to give me some information.
Our business has several locations with staff parking lots. All staff are currently issued a parking tag which hangs from their rear-view mirror. We currently have software which keeps track of the following:
Employee Name
Tag Number
Licence Plate 1
Licence Plate 2
Licence Plate 3
Licence Plate 4
I am interested in finding out if your software would be a suitable replacement for the software we currently use. The staff are payroll deducted for their parking. Each pay period (every other week) we pull from the software we are using, the names of any employees who have begun parking services and those who have cancelled parking services, since the previous pay period. We then send this list to our payroll department, who in turn either sets up a recurring deduction or cancels the recurring deduction... whichever applies. As such your software would need to have some sort of ability for us to pass off this information to our payroll department.
RESPONSE
Our system allows multiple vehicles to be associated with one person. The user interface allows users to add their own vehicles, and though they can remove a vehicle it is only marked as archived and not completely removed from the system.
From the administrative side, any plate can be searched, updated or removed. As well, the system supports more than one user being associated to a plate as in the eductional environment more than one student may share a vehicle.
Our system supports payroll deduction and could generate reports like the ones you are looking for. Some schools use ParkAdmin as the financial tracking system with reconciliation done against bank records to ensure proper audit trails.
ParkAdmin supports both violations and incident tracking. In the case of violations the system can be setup to sync with remote handhelds. As well, the system supports an appeals interface to allow users to submit their own appeals through the web.
QUESTION
In our system, we use plastic/acrylic tags that hang from rear view mirrors. Do the hand held units your company has scan barcodes from these tags?
Our staff do not currently have access to update their own information. All information relating to parking is handled through 2 admin staff positions. Our Dispatch group (40-50 users) have read only access to our current system, enabling them to lookup information, but not change it. Is it possible to setup different types of user profiles?
We employ city by-law officers who issue by-law tickets for parking violations in addition to Supervisors issuing written warnings. Are there user profiles that allow these types of users to enter tickets/warnings, but not allow other changes?
Some of the modules you have would not apply to us... can we get a scaled down version? Or, would we have to purchase the full version and just not use those other modules?
RESPONSE
The system supports different user types since the requests you are making are quite common. The extensive functionality of the system can be toggled on and off, but generally it is a large package which is customized. We deal in terms of modules, so at that level you could determine what "modules" you would need and costing is done from that persepctive. As an example, there has been no mention of cameras or lockers and as such they would not be part of the package or the pricing.Downloading some of the data capture and administration to your users may help to make your office more efficient. For example, when people change their address, they are able to make the change themselves minimizing the chance of data entry errors. The system supports both user and administrator with reduced functionality at the user level.
Our system can print its own bar codes. The system uses the 3of9 format which is the default standard for most systems. The reasons we print our own barcodes is so that we can randomize the barcodes, and allocate them within the system upon purchase. Consider a mailer that goes out to a client that is one piece of paper with perforations in the right place so that they can rip off their hang tag themselves.
In one of our installations, they print off the hangtags on paper with embedded holograms for added security. Then laminate the tag and mail to the client. Lamination is not necessary, but in this case they also use the bar codes at the gate readers (which ParkAdmin can also communicate with).
The system also supports access cards if your system is setup in that manner. By this I mean that clients will be charged a deposit for an access card, and it is tracked with their profile.
In our installation, we support warnings, school violations and municipal violations. The patrol officer decides how to ticket a vehicle at the time the violation is recorded. The connection to the municipality ends there, but the violation is tracked linked to the user within the system.
I should also mention that there is a collections module to assist with the collection of overdue violations.
System pricing is based on the number of users. From that we are able to calculate licensing, support and hosting/maintenance.
We would host the system on our PCI compliant network, and charge a monthly (or annual) fee to cover suppport and maintenance. That ensures that as updates are developed (or bugs are found/resolved) they become part of the system.
